Go Aggies!

Our GATE students cheered on the AGGIES with cards of kindness a few weeks ago.  A former GATE student, Austin Pankey, is the quarterback for the AHS football team.  His mom contacted me to see if we would like to support our Aggie football seniors by writing notes.  The GATE students had a great time writing words of encouragement and drawing pictures for these 12th graders.

The Friday night they received our cards was the night of the AHS vs. Clay-Chalkville game.  While the scoreboard did not show a win, our fans considered it a huge accomplishment to play so well against the #2 team in the state!  Our GATE students think they had a little to do with how well the boys played.

I am proud of the kindness of my students through this mini service learning project to support and encourage our senior football players!
